Anatomía del área pélvica femenina

Endometrio. El revestimiento del útero.

Útero. También llamado matriz, el útero es un órgano hueco, en forma de pera, ubicado en la parte inferior del abdomen de la mujer, entre la vejiga y el recto.

Ovarios. Dos órganos reproductores femeninos ubicados en la pelvis.

Trompas de Falopio. Lleva óvulos de los ovarios al útero.

Cuello uterino. La parte inferior y estrecha del útero (matriz) ubicada entre la vejiga y el recto. Se forma un canal que desemboca en la vagina, lo que conduce a la parte exterior del cuerpo.

Vagina. El paso a través del cual el líquido sale del cuerpo durante los períodos menstruales. También se llama "canal de parto". La vagina conecta el cuello uterino (la abertura de la matriz, o útero) y la vulva (genitales externos).

Vulva. La parte externa de los órganos genitales femeninos.
