Genética del Cáncer de Ovario

Solo un pequeño porcentaje de tipos de cáncer involucran mutaciones heredadas que se transmiten de generación en generación. La mayoría de los tipos de cáncer pueden atribuirse a mutaciones adquiridas. “Adquiridas” significa que las mutaciones se producen solo en el tejido afectado por el cáncer y que los cambios no están presentes en todas las células del cuerpo. Las mutaciones adquiridas no se heredan y no se transmiten a nuestros hijos.
